Jeff Gunthorpe
Jeffrey is the former fitness manager at the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) and personal trainer to many business men and women in NYC. At the New York Athletic Club he ran a department that followed strict fitness guidelines and worked with many semi pro athletes, recreational sports enthusiasts, post rehab specialties, those in need of overall improved function.
Jeffrey started personal training in 1997 at an upscale club in NYC. While training clients he also started coaching high school track and field. After one season at Convent of the Sacred Heart, he took on the job of establishing training schedules for his high school alma mater Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx along with being named the Head Coach of Track and Field in 1998. As a high school sprinter he won state, city and placed in national championships. A short lived college career at the University of New Mexico was cut short by injuries.Over the years Jeffrey’s client list has included athletes, lawyers, judges, corporate execs., business owners, designers and bankers. His youngest client was 10 years old and his oldest client was 97. In 2006 Jeffrey became the Fitness Advisor to the Frank McGuire Foundation (www.mcguriefoundation.org). The summer of 2009 Jeffrey became the fitness advisor to the Root Magazine online (www.rootmagazineonline.com) to offer readers fitness advice through articles on the many topics formed from the ever growing fitness industry. In 2008 Jeffrey formed Coach Management (Coachmgt. LLC) to address the growing needs and concerns that small business and individuals have. He offers personal and corporate advice on fitness and functional training. He also offers personal fitness and consulting services to clients in Maryland , New York and Virginia.
